How exciting, I love the Miller’s Residence. It’s one of my favourite hotels, it’s so charming and eclectic and it has it’s own brand of gin - Martin Miller Gin!

Juliet Sybil Johns and Hayley Goodwin model Madame V’s new collection.

And it’s the dashing David Piper! Check out his blog at www.lovaganda.blogspot.com.

As a kid I hated road trips but this trip has really been great! It felt like the kind of trip that you take with your girlfriends and most of us have already worked together so it made everything super easy. We’re all Canadian with one American so we’ve all experienced the childhood road trip; a four hour drive is nothing to us. Some good music, the occasional animal or bird spotting, some snacks and we’re good to go! We’ve been to so many places: Calgary, Banff and Lake Louise all in just a couple of days! It was lots of work but we had great weather and scenery and of course a great model, Renee Lacombe! So of course we had a successful shoot!

I love hotels. I know I mention this all the time but it’s only because it’s true. Hotel rooms are so tidy and I guess I just need to be free of my clutter and debris. I also like a hotel that gives you your own little coffee pot at breakfast (I drink tea in the morning at home but when I’m out I always have coffee).
When I was a student and in between flats I once shared my friend’s chambre de bonne (tiny single room flat usually on the top floor) across from Chanel on Rue Cambon, and for some reason I found it very funny that years later I’m staying on Rue Cambon but this time I’m at the lovely Castille Paris (33-37 Rue Cambon), right beside Chanel, for Paris Fashion Week! It seems ironic…but not accidental, it actually seems odd because it feels normal.
I love going to Paris because I really love cafes. It doesn’t matter how late it is, there is always a cafe open - it’s not the same as going to your local English pub. I’ve also decided that when I’m 75 I want to dress like a 75 year old, chic Parisian woman: clean lines, beautiful fabrics, a scarf, good shoes and nice hand bag. It gives me something to look forward to, and if I’m going to be old I’m going to dress well!

Bright Light Slippers
Whenever I’m staying at a hotel I tend to leave a light on. It’s not because I’m scared - although sometimes I might be, but fortunately I stay in nice hotels so they’re not really scary. I’m afraid of bumping into things, banging my toe. I really like the hotels that have a floor light - the light is quite soft and it comes from the bottom of the bed side table light up a small path. These light bright slippers are great for the world traveler!

Club Med In Florida for a week! It was work but at least on the last day I got to go to a kick boxing class and a pilates class outside looking over the beach front, and then back to London. It’s funny when you go away because you really having a sense of what home is. I’m not sure I would want to live in a hot climate. I love summer and sunglasses but I love coats, cardigans, layers and soft leather boots.

I loved this hotel room. It was lush and ornate, I loved the canopy and the heavy curtains. It was such a beautiful room but it just reeked of smoke. I don’t smoke but in most hotels the smoking rooms don’t smell like this, I understand how smoke just seeps into the drapery but still I felt like I’d been out clubbing all night in stead of dreaming. You know that feeling when you can’t go to sleep without washing your hair because all you can smell is smoke and you leave your clothes in the hall way because they reek. Anyway, really it was just such a perfect romantic room and the view was lovely.

Our hotel was yellow and some how during this trip I’ve become partial to yellow buildings, althought maybe I was before as I have a vague memory of seeing yellow houses near Prinston.
